Web Hosting Reviews

web-host-3Let’s face it, while there is certainly need and a place for all the technical features, (be they shortcomings or positives) the typical user in search of a top web hosting provider simply wants to know if they are easy to work with and dependable. With that in mind, let’s explore what the actual customers say about the plethora of web hosts on the market.

Contenders and Pretenders

As stated, we will be focusing on the general, some may say most important, aspects of any business, be it on the web or on your corner street. The users break down performance into five categories; Value for Money, Customer Service and Billing, Connection Speed, Technical Support and Knowledge and Uptime and Reliability.

WebzPro gets positive feedback; Most of the reviewers rave about WebzPro’s quick support response and the friendliness of their techs. Although some of the cons concerned the connection speed, and a few disputed the claim to great customer service.

While Just Host is at the top of the “experts” reviews, they receive an abysmal rating from actual users. In fact some have claimed to be living a nightmare while trying to deal with Just Host. A common trend among complaints seem to be about the lack of tech support and the basic ignorance of the techs. Dealing with the company in general appears to require a Herculean effort. When customers are that vicious about something, there is definitely a problem, no matter what the experts say.

Then we have AwardSpace, who by all accounts are loved. Once again, a great deal hinges on the support and the manners and competence of the tech staff. Here AwardSpace passes with flying colors. Although being a free service, there were complaints about the speed and the sudden closing of bandwidth sites.

From Tucson to Virginia Tech: Shooting Survivor Ca...

DemocracyNow.org - Thirty-two people died in the 2007 Virginia Tech shooting, six died in the Tucson attack on Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, and 34 people are killed by a bullet every day in the United States. However, President Obama made no mention of gun control during his State of the Union address Tuesday. White House advisers say he will soon unveil new gun control efforts to strengthen current laws that allow mentally unstable people, such as alleged Arizona shooter Jared Loughner, to purchase assault weapons without a background check. Democracy Now! interviews Colin Goddard, a survivor of the Virginia Tech shooting massacre who, after recovering and finishing his degree, decided to work with the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, the nation's largest gun control organization. His story is told in "Living for 32," a new documentary that just premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. We also hear from former Salt Lake City Mayor Rocky Anderson about a bill passed Wednesday by the Utah House of Representatives to make the Browning M1911 pistol the official state gun.
