Probably the biggest fact about a DWI lawyer is that they get paid well for what it is that they do. These people know every up, down and sideways when it comes to the laws involving DWI offenses.
A Lot Depends Upon The State In Which You Live
Different states have different DWI laws. The state in which I live,
Wisconsin, unfortunately has a major DWI problem. Milwaukee in particular is a big beer town; and it shows. Every time I pick up the paper I read about someone who has been stopped and ticketed for their sixth, seventh, or eighth DWI defense. How can this happen? One of two things: 1) they are driving without a license and against the law; 2) they had a stellar DWI lawyer.
What Are Your Rights?
Can you
refuse a DWI test before speaking with a lawyer? Once you refuse that test, you’re under arrest. Now you do need a lawyer. Most lawyers of this type offer free consultations; you might as well take advantage. DWI lawyers are easy to find and in fact are posted on many roadside billboards; a sad commentary on our culture.
Anyone who drinks has at some time, had too much to drink. It happens. That’s their business. It becomes a lawyer’s business when they get behind the steering wheel.
